High Pressure Air Dryer(4.5MPa) What is High Pressure Air Dryer

Bad affection by the compressed air

The compressed air expelled from the air compressor is heated to a high temperature and contains much moisture. If this compressed air is used as it is in the air compressor, it may cause the following troubles.

  1. 1Possible violation of the exhaust gas control rules applicable upon starting of the main engine.
  2. 2Difficult starting due to stick of starting valve of the main engine.
  3. 3Generation of rust in the air tank and piping, causing some troubles to the equipment.
  4. 4Frequent draining from within the tank
  5. 5Frequent malfanctioning of the automatic draining valve due to rust.

At present, the air running out of the receiver tank will be led into the decompression chamber, where it is then decompressed to below 1MPa and only the control air is dehumidified through the dehumidifier. On the other hand, regarding the ground compressor, an air dryer is built in the package of the screw compressors as if quite natural and the dehumidifying is made immediately after the compressor.

Why is it that only the low-pressure air line after the receiver tank is provided with a dryer and a dehumidifier?

SOLUTIONIt is because there was no air dryer then available for use with 3MPa.
The above problems can be solved when the air dryer for 3MPa mentioned here is installed right after the air compressor and by producing dried air from the supply source of the high pressure air. Furthermore, there will be no longer any need of a dehumidifier of a low pressure air line, thus allowing the air to be even more dried after decompression.
